How Does Google Adsense Works

Working of Google Adsense

As you can see, in the picture Fred is a guy who wants to promote his product/brand using Google Adsense. He deposits $1000 to Adsense for the promotion. Now, we are the publishers who will be showing these ads on our blog to our visitors.

Now, based the PPC (Pay Per Click) and the impressions we will earn 70% of the total income which was initially allocated by the advertiser. Rest of the money i.e. 30% is Google’s commission.

If you are thinking that the commission is high and your chances of making money are less, then let me show you some interesting statistics.

Here are few of the top bloggers who are or use to bank multi-figure income through Adsense Ads only.

Jeremy Schoemaker,000$20,000/month
Perez Hilton,210,000$60,000/month
Kevin Rose,200,000$150,000/month
Markus Frind,100,000$190,000/month
Pete Cashmore,210,000$250,000/month
Courtney Rosen,210,000$300,000/month
Jack Herrick,210,000$350,000/month

How Much Can I Earn As A Newbie?

I am sure after reading the above stats; you have a question in your mind that how much can you earn from Adsense as a newbie.

So let’s calculate the things.

Suppose you are receiving 1000 visitors a day (I will teach you how below), and you are receiving about 100 clicks (10% of total).

Now, if we consider your average PPC to be $0.5, then you will be making $0.5*100 = $50 daily.

That sums up to be, $50*30 = $1500 per month.

And, $1500*12 = $18000 yearly.

Note that you are still a newbie, and you haven’t yet reached to millions of page views. It is just the beginning.

Sounds promising? Let’s get started.

In this guide, I will teach how you can Start an Adsense Ready Blog and start earning 6 Figure income out of it.

The guide is divided into several sections for your convenience, and there are some secret tips for starting a successful blog.

So let’s get started with the very first section.

Part 1 – Choosing Your Niche

Niche is the category about which you would be writing.

Choosing a niche is important as you don’t want to blog about a topic that is either too competitive or there are no one interested in reading it.

A perfect niche should meet following underlying conditions –

You are passionate about the niche. It means that you know about the niche and you can quickly write 20+ articles without getting out of ideas.

People are interested reading about it. You don’t want to see only 10-20 people on your blog. There must be millions or at least thousands of users who are interested in the niche.

There are not many big sites up for competition. For example, if you want to write about Android, then there are sites like Android Authority, CNET, Fonearena, etc. which are already very popular and have a huge fan base.

Since we are creating an Adsense ready blog for making money; we don’t have to research on ways to monetize our blog.

Here is some popular niche that has the potential to make 6 figure income using Adsense.

1. Fashion
2. Food
3. Technology
4. Travel
5. Blogging
6. News etc.

Again, you should not select the above niches as a whole, pick a smaller niche and try to bring as much as possible traffic to it.

Read this mega guide by Brian Dean (@backlinko) to find a profitable niche and keywords step by step.

Tip: Try to find some viral niches which can bring millions of visitors in short span for quick money.

Part 2 – Buying a Domain

It is the name by which your blog will be known, and it has to be easy to remember.

I have written a separate article on finding a Brandable Domain Name for free.

Read it and choose a domain name which expresses your niche.

You can buy the domain name with free Whois protection from trusted sites like Namecheap ($10.69) and NameSilo ($8.99).

Additionally, if you are short on the budget, then GoDaddy will let you buy you a domain name for just $1 for the first year (Renews at $14.99 afterward) without whois protection.

Don’t want to spend a single penny on the domain name?

Part 3 – Setting up Your Blog

Once you have chosen a niche and domain name, it is time to set up your blog.

At first, you need to find a blogging platform. There are some free blogging platforms like, Blogger, Wix, etc.

However, you won’t be having full control over your blog if you choose to go for a blogging platform.

If you are serious about blogging and want to control your blog completely then Self Hosted WordPress, is the one you need to opt.

Check out my post Self-Hosted Vs for more information.

Here, you need to invest in web hosting to host your site.

SiteGround is most trusted and suitable web hosting provider for newbies, and it can easily handle the traffic which you will be receiving initially.

For a limited time, you can get flat, 60% off on SiteGround shared web hosting pack using the special discount link given below. Also, you get a free domain name with all shared hosting packages.

You can refer to my recent step-by-step article to install and setup WordPress with SiteGround hosting.

If you are working with a viral niche, then avoid shared hosting and opt for managed web hosting. Interserver is my recommended managed WordPresss web hosting provider, and it can handle massive traffic.

Part 4 – Installing an Adsense Optimized Theme

The confusion of ads placement and ad blockers used by visitors are the two principal problems every blogger faces if they are monetizing using Adsense.

The simplest way you can get rid of this issue is to install an Adsense optimized theme that will help you in ads placement.

The best theme I have found the above solution is Adsense Theme from MyThemeShop.

It is the latest addition to their theme showcase, and like all the themes it is SE Optimized and Mobile Friendly.

But, the features I like the most is Ad Blocker notice. It is a unique feature which I haven’t seen in any theme yet.

Around 26% internet users around the world are already using an ad blocker on their browser and this number is growing up. It is a huge loss to bloggers like us who are dependent on contextual advertisers.

So, if you are earning $100 from your blog, then get ready to make $126 from now onwards.

The Adsense theme will display a notice to users who are using an ad blocker extension and will ask them to disable it.

You can also block a part of your post if visitors are using an ad blocker. It will be unlocked to those who aren’t using any. See it in action below.

Part 5 – Creating SE Optimized Articles

Now, it is the time to create articles that are Search Engine Optimized and bring the maximum traffic from search engines.

The first step in writing such articles is keyword research. Tools like Semrush and Long-tail Pro are widely used to find low competition keywords that are easy to rank.

Long-tail Pro don’t have a free trial, but you can try Semrush for free if you want to see how things work.

Also, you can also use an entirely free tool called Google Keyword Planner to find keywords.

Read my article “21 tips to write an SE Optimized Article” to learn few more tips of writing SE Optimized articles.

Tip: Once you have written 15-20 high-quality articles and your blog is at least 1-2 months old, you can apply for Google Adsense.

Part 6 – Bringing the Traffic

It is the crucial factor of blogging, and you need to keep working on it from day one.

Unless you are creating a personal blog to share stories or something, you want millions of visitors to view your blog and appreciate it.

But, bringing in the traffic is not an easy task. Actually, it is the hardest part of blogging.

Tip: Don’t fall for gurus and their courses about traffic generation. Most of them are sh*t useless, and you can learn all those tactics for free on the internet.

I have already written an article about 17 actionable traffic tips to get first 1000 visitors a day.

Read the article mentioned above, and if followed correctly with consistency you will get your first thousand visitors within a short span of time.
